Composed by Gerald Custer. Edited by Pearl Shangkuan. Holy Family C, Lent 2 B, Easter 4 B. Calvin Institute. Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. GIA Publications #7090. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-7090).

UPC: 785147709008. English. Text Source: Based on Psalm 116 and 1 John 3, refrain: motto of Calvin College. Text by Gerald Custer. Scripture: Psalm 116:12–13, 1 John 3:1ab.

A song of commitment based on Psalm 166 and John 3. The folk song-like refrain is most attractive for assembly singing, while the choral enhancements of the refrain and the verses make this a serious piece of choral repertoire. Assembly part is optional Jerry Custer has written a piece based on the motto of Calvin College in Grand Rapids: My heart I offer to you, Lord, promptly and sincerely. Other text comes from Psalm 116 and the Gospel of John. Some divisi writing results in rich choral moments, and the piano writing weaves in and out.

Folk song-like refrain is most attractive for assembly singing.
