These are nice sturdy envelopes for band music. The size is just right for just about any band music you may have. There is also places to check off instruments and for other pertinent information. Great buy!

the short side. I store my charts for my big band in Rubbermaid containers to seal out humidity, etc., and they stand up on the long edge. (Also, the printed fields for title, catalog #, etc. are laid out to be read that way as well). I began using Carl Fischer's filing envelopes years ago and they were made with an open top on the long side. I don't think the Fischer ones are available any longer, so I was happy to find these. I would recommend them for cataloging and storing your library.
