A comprehensive tuition book for Piano and button 'C' system Accordion, which covers all elements of theory and practical Accordion playing.

Everything from components and how they fit together, to hand positions and posture, to arpeggios, scales and exercises, to a selection of varying music at different difficulties should keep you busy for quite a while. The book is a badly organized attempt to teach both piano accordion and chromatic button accordion. The differences in fingerings between the two instruments is enough that it really needs to be made much clearer. There are much better books on the market. It is definitely NOT for beginners on...

    the accordion.

  • March 01, 2011 if only all text books were like this

Before mastering the piano, my parents could only afford piano accordion lessons. I was fortunate enough to have studied from this text book from the age of 9 until I was 12 when I switched to piano. This book takes you from a total beginner to early advanced level in...

increments that you will not notice. No other book in my 40 years of experienc has ever matched it either in music nor in any other field to my knowledge. If only all text books were written like this, we would all be high achievers. Written in the early 1940's,Author Luigi Oreste Anzaghi is the father of Davide Anzaghi who is also a famous musician himself. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn the instrument well

  • March 07, 2006 Best Button Accordion Book

I don't know why there are so few accordion method books available for the button accordion. This book is the first that I have seen that applies to the chromatic accordion with 5 rows of treble buttons and the standard 120 bass buttons. Although it was written many years...

ago (1950’s) it does have photos and figures that are very useful. It contains pages that go over proper posture, fingering, how the accordion is made along with plenty of scales, exercises and songs that should keep you busy for a long time. It also has information for those who play the piano keyboard style. Fingering notation is shown above the staff for the piano style and fingering notation is shown below for the button style. This is a very good book for someone who is just starting out and for those who have already been playing a while. I highly recommend this book.
