    I have used this collection of solos in my studio teaching for several years and like it very much. Students who are able to reach the horn G below the staff to the G at the top of the staff will be ready to play these pieces. Louis Stout, the...

    editor, has included interesting information about each piece and its composer, definitions for musical terms used in the piece and preparatory exercises. Each solo has a challenging aspect to it. i.e. stopped horn, compound meter and 20th century writing. The CD which goes along with the collection lets the student listen to the piece and also play with accompaniment only

    Picking up and practicing a French horn after 50 years would have been daunting, had I not found out about your wonderful music for horn with practice CD and piano accompaniment. It is just great to be able to play and feel happy about it. Thank you so much.

    It is a great book that I would recomend it for any young french horn player. The music is good and the tips it gives you are even better
