Although it's a small volume it has quite a few pieces...easy to read notation...and evokes the Scottish highlands...fast and slow Airs..

This collection of Scottish music is a terrific combination of Reels, Strathspeys, Marches and Airs. It's not meant to be a "begining" book for people just picking up the fiddle. However, it can be played by any violinist /fiddler from early intermediate on. Like so much in celtic music...

, the printed notes are pretty much a framework & the fiddler brings the rest. The book is small enough to easily fit in your cases' music pocket. The book is a wonderful introduction to the best of 18th century Scottish music. For serious study - try the annual Jink & Diddle School of Scottish Fiddling. It brings all the music alive!
