These are so easy to use, and work with your hymnbooks! The music is easily playable by most ward choir pianists!

  • February 01, 2015 How great thou art

Having difficulty leading "How Great Thou Art", the copy sheet is not in the same key as the piano. making it difficult for those in the choir who read music to match the piano. I tried to respect the copyright by copying only the last line to fix this issue...

, but it has taken me hours to manipulate my computer and it still doesn't work right. Trying to see if you have a solution?

  • June 01, 2011 Great for beginner choirs and conductors.

I really love the hymn arrangements in this book. They are beautiful, and really make my novice choir sound professional.I did have a few say it was hard to follow, but that's what practices are for!I really like that you don't have to sing the parts...

. Everyone can sing the melody or the parts they know, instead of having to learn something new all together. It's nice for those who can't make it to practice but still like to join, they can just sing what they already know from the hymn book. Also, it's pretty easy to incorporate the congregation in to the last verse. I just did that for stake conference, and it worked perfectly. Also, it's easy for people to practice the parts at home on lds.org/churchmusic. Just find the song, and change it to the right key then follow along. Many members enjoy doing that.I would definitely recommend this book. You just have to learn how to use it in the best way for You and the Choir.

  • March 11, 2011 Beautiful arrangements, not a recommended method.

This method works wonderfully for the conductor and pianist, but is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for the choir. While attempting to watch the conductor, we also have to read the parts and lyrics in the hymn book AND the instructions on a separate page. I do not recommend following the method suggested...

by this book. Instead, copy the hymn and add the instructions as notes next to each line of the hymn, so everything is all on one page."Here is the perfect answer to a tight ward choir budget...Simple "Road Map" pages, which may be photocopied, instruct the choir's use of the hymn book. Conductor and the pianist work directly from the score."
