Composed by Georges Bizet. Arranged by Alison Gillies. Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 4 pages. Quartetpad.com #3579251. Published by quartetpad.com (A0.512077).

Habañera from Bizet's CARMEN arranged for 2 cellos  by Alison Gillies.

Habañera is the popular name for L'amour est un oiseau rebelle ('Love is a rebellious bird'), one of the most famous arias from Bizet's 1875 opera, Carmen.  It features on the soundtrack  of a variety of films, including Hostel: Part II, Girl 6, Magnolia, and Bad Santa as well as the Disney Pixar movie Up.

This arrangement for 2 cellos is instantly recognisable. Cello 1 is mostly in treble clef, with a lot of thumb position. Cello 2 is in bass clef throughout.
