Guitar Grimoire Scales & Modes is a great book I highly recommend it. I used this book with the Bradley's Music Co. "musicrule.com" music ruler U.S. Patent # 5107744 and the Grimoire books answer all my music questions.

After playing 40+ years, I seen a lot about this instrument. The book is good in concept, however tedious it may be. For humans, repetition is our best master. Yes, Kadmon lays out the format on purpose; not to "dumb us down" but to make the curriculuum much easier to...

perceive, contrary to authors who just leave readers hanging, with little continuity. There is much info here, digest it, review it: enrich your playing.

  • January 14, 2009 Must have

This book is a must have for any guitar player of any level. For beginners, the DVD (sold separately) is a gold mine when used with this book and is easily worth 3 months or more of theory lessons with a guitar teacher. Basically, if you don't own this...

book, do yourself a favor! And if you are starting out with scales and modes, buy the DVD as well and save yourself ALOT of trouble and time figuring these things out.
