Each arrangement consists of a choral setting of the penultimate (next-to-last) verse and a short organ introduction to the last verse; the final verse of each setting has a special descant marked with a fine choral conclusion. The hymns include many favorites such as Abide with Me (Eventide); Be Thou My Vision (Slane); Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! (Nicaea); Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (Love Divine); Praise to the Holiest (Richmond); The Lord's My Shepherd (Crimond); and Thine Be the Glory (Maccabaeus).
