2001 the Hamburg musicologist Hans Joachim Marx unearthed a previously unknown Handel composition in the Royal Academy of Music in London: the Gloria for solo soprano, two violins and basso continuo. Since then the authenticity of this early work, probably composed in 1707, has been confirmed by other leading scholars.

The Gloria is noteworth for its brilliant coloratura solo part, making this piece a must for all singers.
