The book is primarily focused on bass and DRUM SET, but it can be applied to students of other Latin percussion. The grooves are really authentic. I uploaded the CD onto my iPod and used my iPod speakers to practice the conga drum along with the recording. Man, they play...

fast, but those are the real grooves. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not five is that they might have recorded some tracks at a slower tempo for people who are just learning. I also suggest exploring Conga Cookbook by Poncho Sanchez, Bongo Drumming Beyond the Basics by Trevor Salloum, and Progressive Steps to Bongo and Conga Drum Technique by Ted Reed.
