Composed by J.S. Bach (1685-1750). Arranged by James Pybus. Baroque. 20 pages. James Pybus #2964447. Published by James Pybus (A0.764669).

The Little Fugue in G minor, BWV 578 is a piece of organ music written by J.S. Bach sometime around his years at Arnstadt (1703-07). The fugue's four-and-a-half measure subject is one of Bach's most recognizable tunes. It is in four voices. This arrangement for Flute Quartet (with optional parts for Alto and Bass flute doubling the 3rd and 4th parts)  was among my very first attempts at writing for the medium of four woodwinds when I was just graduating from high school. Now, older and somewhat wiser, I have revised the arrangement, mainly to give the 1st player a bit of a breather. I hope you enjoy performing this challenging work. Duration is 4:08.
