Fresh Air is an arrangement for big band of the Air from the Orchestral Suite No. 3 (BWV 1068) of J.S. Bach, set as a bossa nova in 7/4. Subdivided into 4+3, each measure contains a dotted barline between the 4/4 and 3/4 part of the measure to facilitate reading by bands not accustomed to reading "odd meters." Solo space is provided for soprano sax, leading to an exciting shout chorus which also includes solis for the saxes and for the trombones. This chart is a great change of pace for your assessment or concert program!
