About Fast Track Music Instruction

FastTrack is (you guessed it!) a fast way for beginners to learn to play that instrument they just bought. FastTrack is different from other method books: we've made them user-friendly with plenty of cool songs that make it easy and fun for players to teach themselves. Plus, the last section of all the FastTracks books have the same songs so that students can form a band and jam together.

This book is laid out very well for both chords and scales. The scales are shown as patterns on the fretboard; one need only shift them up and down the fretboard to obtain the various scales relative to different locations on the fretboard (keys). Some confusion may be caused as...

these patterns are moveable and not fixed to any location on the fretboard. The scales can be shifted depending on the root note desired. Caged, three-notes-per-string, and horizontal patterns are shown giving maximum versatility depending upon which location on the fretboard you want to play. If you can identify circles in fret locations (relatively easy) then you can use this valuable book. This is one of the first books I purchased when I started teaching myself the guitar and it has become a mainstay of my practice sessions. Highly recommended.

Not a very well set out book. There is a wide range of chords shown in boxes but the scales are not clear. They are shown on a picture of the neck of the guitar and are not written in either tab or notation on a stave. Overall - very dissapointed...

. Not easy at all for the beginner. I have purchased all the other fast tracks and have found them to be excellent.
