Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles arranged for Viola and Cello duo by Alison Gillies.

One of the most famous Beatles songs, from their 1966 album, Revolver. Strings feature heavily in the original, so this arrangement is easily recognisable! Both parts require some simple double-stopping.

The arrangement is nice, however the recording is not clear enough for the cello player to hear their part. The viola part also unnecessarily changes into treble clef for some higher notes, I personally would have rather had more ledger lines than the clef change. There also seems to be...

a measure numbering error at some point, a few measures before where both the cello and the viola have the melody. Otherwise, it’s a nice arrangement.
