Relatively speaking, these melodies travel between a collection of pitches extending from "lower Sol" to "upper Sol" (Ex: Amazing Grace, Happy Birthday, the familiar theme from Brahms Symphony No. 1, 4th movement). Learning to hear and navigate these basic Sol-to-Sol tonal relationships is a vital step for students learning to sight-sing using the solfege system. Dona Nobis Pacem is a lovely melody that choirs enjoy singing in Latin as a warm-up for unified vowel formation, tonal focus and interdependent part-singing.
