  • May 02, 2008 Fun and catchy

Great for fun, CD accompaniment is well balanced and reasonably true to the original songs. I have played oboe for 3 months (being a musician of 25+ years) and found it 'challenging' sight reading! Useful for teachers to keep pupils upbeat!

My Daughter likes this book, has allot of her favorite songs in it. Maybe should only be one page long though for a beginner. Otherwise very nice book.

  • March 28, 2007 Good for those "that's cute" moments

This book is full of easy solos that are fun to play. It's not incredibly challenging, but could be useful in experimenting with tone and style. This book will also save you when relatives come over and insist on hearing you play oboe. You tell them you'll play...

something by Bach, and they say "Oh. I haven't heard that one." At that point, you whip out the book, play an easy solo, and get a stading ovation by relatives.

  • April 19, 2006 Enjoyable

You will enjoy this book if you are looking for a fun song that you like but not too advanced. If students have heard the songs prior to playing them, it will be easier and they can find mistakes in rythyms and notes easily.

  • January 26, 2005 Beginner Book

This is a great book for beginners. Since most people know all the songs in it, it teaches young oboists to play better--they can easily hear mistakes and correct them. It also provides "fun" music for young musicians who need a break from technical exercises.
