Program Notes:

Dancing Devil is a scherzo (and also similar to a tarantella) for wind band. The piece features a whirling musical motif that is passed around the instruments while growing in intensity. The title refers to a "Dust Devil," or a type of tornado of dirt found in the southwestern United States, but listeners could also imagine the kind of devil that is red, has a tail, horns, and a pitchfork!
