A great book for encouraging group / ensemble reading skills. Written for Eb Bb BClef and C instruments it contains basic jazz rhythms and licks that can assist the budding jazz player. A valuable tool for the High School director to encourage accuracy in jazz reading.

  • September 12, 2007 A rhythmic sight reading workout!

Good book..starts really easy, but then get tough fast. Teaches pretty much every possible rhythm and how to articulate it so it sounds like swing. Has cool ways to practice reading too...combines sight reading and improvisation with the blues scale. If you want to work on your sight...

reading and your improvisation, you'll like this book. I did.
