  • February 16, 2007 An Excellent Piece

Mozart's 3rd Violin concerto is, in my humble opinion, one of the best in the reportoire. Many would consider the piece to be "student" material, yet I loved playing it all the same. It provides a stepping stone to the fourth and fifth concertos, or possibly to something like...

the Mendelssohn violin concerto. The Sam Franco cadenza for the first movement is wonderful, and definately helps for learning how to put emotion into one's playing.
