This is a great Concerto.. very Romantic.. I would think it belongs to the Russian Concerto style.. The sort of Concertos that one wants to tackle before the mainstream Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven. Perhaps a good time to learn a Russian Concerto such as this one by Conus (also spelt Konius...

), Arensky, Glazunov, Khachaturian, Kabalevsky, is after one has mastered a Concerto by Vieuxtemps and DeBeriot. Conus dedicated this Concerto to Ivan Galamian, and he edits this edition. It's a pleasure to be able to jump right in and master some difficult sounding passages so quickly thanks to the clarity of the editing (fingerings and bowings). I would say this is essential material for the advanced violinist.
