  • February 26, 2008 Complete Musical Review

This book has just about everything you could want if you are into music you experienced in public school music in the '50s. From patriotic to western to folk to Broadway- it's all here!

  • February 02, 2008 Selections good, harmony not so good

It is unbelievable how hard it is to find arrangements in four-part harmony for a small chorus. This book is no exception -- it is in three-part for the most part. The number of selections is good but it is a little light on "pop" music. Still, I am...

glad to have it because most choir music I can find on the internet is scared music.

  • November 08, 2007 Fine Songs, but, alas, Fine Print

Good choice of songs, but would be better if the book were not so small (it measures about 5 x 8).

  • June 20, 2007 Disappointing.

Very little of interest; inclusion of verses, where applicable, would improve this collection.

  • November 29, 2001 Great Songbook

In 1974 I was 10, and my folks bought this songbook to pass the time during a cross-country drive. We sang some really great songs. It has everything people were singing 25 years ago. A complete set of patriotic tunes, great pioneer stuff like "Sweet Betsy From Pike" and...

"Bury Me Not On the Lone Prairie," which noone else seems to sing anymore, lots of Christmas tunes, etc. I have found the piano arrangements to be perfectly intermediate. For me, they take practice, but are fun to play. I love this book! One warning: the book is about 4.25" x 8.5" (half letter size), so the writing is a tad small.
