This book is best used with a metronome. The key signatures are limited to C, G, F, Bb. The songs grow more complex in rhythm & phrasing very slowly over the course of the book, but never move beyond an intermediate level. Pleasant to work with. But of little use without...

    a metronome.

  • May 21, 2013 THE Recorder Book

If I had to live with only one book of recorder music this would be it. It has a large collection of good music from easy to difficult. No, there aren't any duets or ensemble pieces. This book is for someone sitting around the house playing recorder. Usually easy...

pieces are boring but Mr. Puscoiu has good taste in choosing easy songs that sound well on the recorder. As in every book you will not like all of the pieces but if you like baroque to classical music you will find a lot here to play.

  • June 03, 2008 My fault, I guess...

I had hoped for some ensemble arrangements, and thought that is what this was. While solo recorder is nice, ensemble makes for fine music, so I was disappointed. I guess it was my own fault, however, as I thought it was arranged for multiple parts.

  • May 16, 2007 A classic classical repertoire

This book contains many golden oldies of the fine music repertoire. Purists would rightly note that many pieces were never intended for recorder, but the thrill of recognition makes up for it. The occasional mistake in transcription just puts the player more on their metal.
