Bach's treatment of this Prelude with sustained arpeggios in the minor mode always beginning in the bass and going up is clearIy a reference to the title "Aus der Tiefe Rufe lch" ("Out of the deept I call "). I have tried to retain these sustained arpeggios wherever possible in this arrangement and care should be taken to play them with equal attack and balance to achieve the desired effect.
