I bought this piece after hearing a version for violin and harmonium. ( link below ) I fell in love with the sound and as I was having a reed Organ rebuilt for our church, thought it would be a great piece to dedicate the instrument when done in six months. As...

the keyboardist, it will take me the 6 months to learn it, as in many great pieces, it may sound "simple" but is actually quite complex, both for keyboardist and violinist. But worth the effort. A challenge but worth it. http://soundcloud.com/bartrodyns/vitali-chaconne-in-g-tijmen?mid=5317

  • August 27, 2008 Beutiful ,moving and difficult at the same time!

Got a cd with Sarah Chang and heard it for the first time. Had to get my hands on the sheet music. Very difficult. At times very similar to many of Paganinis compositions. A typical theme that gets changed into more difficult versions as you play, only in this music...

you have to play it with soul and grace, rather than technical virtuosity. Beutiful music and not for beginners. I am a Conservatory student myself, and it was difficult enough, even for me. But still, very fun to have and something you can hope and dream about playing live sometime in the future.

  • March 27, 2007 Amazing piece

A popular music piece played by many great violinists such as Heifetz and Milstein. It's a nice music to play and listen. I feel that there are lots of opportunities in this piece to allow players exploring their tone color and richness as well as discovering their playing style...

. Observing professionals playing this piece does help me interpreting the music better though.
