This Boosey & Hawkes score is a very nicely printed full orchestral score measuring 9.25 x 12.125 x 1.375 inches. Notation is clear and clean throughout with none of those annoying repeat (same as previous measure) or unison (same as above) shorthand symbols. Instrumentation: 2 flutes (one on piccolo), 2 oboes...

, 2 clarinets (one on bass clarinet), 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, harp, piano, celesta, strings, and percussion [bass drum, snare drum, cymbals and suspended cymbal, temple blocks, wood block, triangle, xylophone, bells (glockenspiel), chimes, maracas, tambourine, and tom-tom]. This orchestral score shows that the classic 1958 recording by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops omitted over 115 measures in five of the Suite’s movements. However, Fielder’s shortened version clocks in at 25:29, while Kay’s complete score indicates the total duration is 23:35. Highly recommended score.
