This is a sister arrangement to my arrangement for string orchestra and solo violin of perhaps the best known Spanish langauge song of the 20th century. It may be used in conjunction with that arrangement or as a chamber piece in its own right. The piano part is fully compatible with the string orchestra arrnagement. In this arrangement, the piano part is self-standing, and the other parts (clarinet in B-flat, solo violin and cello) may be added if so desired. The clarinet part can be played by any B-flat instrument (trumpet, saxophone etc), and since it plays the tune troughout, words are given in the score which may be performed by a singer instead of the B-flat instrument. The piano part requires a player of intermediate to advanced standard, while the violin solo requires a player of advanced to professional standard. The violoncello and clarinet are of intermediate standard.
