My favorite version of Away in a Manger
My high school choir did this about 20 years ago. I was the flute soloist at the time. Now I am leading a church choir and I'm so glad I found this! It is to the tune Flow Gently Sweet Afton which is the best tune for Away in a Manger, in my opinion. You will need a strong flutist and soprano soloist for the descant. The a cappella part in the middle is delicious.

such a beautiful arrangement of the hymn. Lush harmony, lovely flute part. Your choir will love singing this. It is so gentle, just like the hymn
