Celebrate Christmas with a duet for your younger instrumentalists. Both players get a chance to shine with the melody. The piece begins with a short introduction, then the first part plays the U.S. traditional "Mueller" melody with the second part providing accompaniment. There is a brief transition in measure 21, then the second part takes over the Mueller melody. The first part switches to an accompaniment role, but in measure 27 begins playing the "Cradle Song," which is a version often heard in England. Both voices take turns with their respective melodies and accompaniments, bringing both melodies together from measure 43 to the end.
