Great for other arrangers also!
Although the book seems to focus on string players who are composing and arranging, by concentrating on the advice given about writing string parts, the player/arranger of other instruments will find the information very useful. For myself, I'm a percussionist who attended Berklee long ago, and I now have a need to play string parts at a keyboard in my band. The book is really very practical, and gives recommendations that are easy for even a novice keyboardist to understand and employ in creating string parts for songs. Actually absorbing the material into your playing and thought will, of course, take time and practice. But the material is there to work with!
