Crimes against music
As former Master of the Queens's Music, composer Malcolm Williamson famously remarked, The difference between good music and Lloyd Webber is the difference between Michelangelo and a cement mixerLloyd Webber is clearly an excellent business man and has real genius for consistently pandering to the least critical, most easily beguiled ears with his characteristic melange of stolen melodies, limping clichs, inept harmonisation and fifth-rate pastiche of composers many leagues his superior. The endless success of shows like Phantom of the Opera suggest a huge decline in both intelligent musical appreciation and the standard of music education. Will this stop you buying this wretched drivel? I suspect not. But, before you make another small contribution to ALW's vast wealth - reflect that there is a whole world of wonderful music out there (of all kinds) and you really needn't waste any of your precious time on Earth on this man's 'work'.

Boring secondo parts
I bought this music with high hopes of playing Webber's wonderful songs with my friend, an early intermediate pianist. But the music was too difficult for her to read -- and WAY TOO BORING for anyone playing the secondo part. There was absolutely no incentive to practice. Good duet arrangements should have an interplay of melody, and interesting music for both parts!
