  • April 03, 2004 Good for drumming progress

This is book is very good for a drummer willing to progress in drumming. It helps with double bass drum technique and feet and hand cordination. Plenty of fills that might be daunting on paper but once you read them they arent that bad. Only reason I don't give...

it 5 stars is because some of the patterns get kind of boring and repetive. Simplistic if you will. For example only using hi hat, snare, and bass which is one thing I'm critical of. This might sound strange compared to my other reviews but I think I've definatly progressed since Korn and Nirvana. I highly reccomend the Mike Portnoy drumming books and videos for all drummers.

This was the best drumming book i have ever read in my life, it's great for the advanced drummers and good for metal-type drumming (basically everything the other reviewers said). It has a couple notes wrong here AND there but it is still the best drum book ever...

  • July 15, 2001 Lars Ulrich at his finest!

This a great drum book for the advanced heavy metal drummer ( such as I) especially helps break beyond traditional heavy metal drumming, the double bass work is phenomenal and helps you with all of Lars' kooky and crazed fills. This will help you improve as a drummer and and definitely...

help you look beyond the walls of ordinary drumming. Technique is a must in order to play this book, as does endurance and stamina. A great investment for all drummers but the advanced ones, it will really help you, especially if you are in a band. Very accurate, very helpful. I've been playing drums for 7 years, and it has improved me , so have fun! Laterz and Rock Out you Metalheads!

  • June 28, 2000 A Must Have!!!

As a drummer, I would like to tell to all the drummers that this book is for sure a great investment. Lars Ulrich shows some of his best techniques on this album. Especially if you play the Heavy Metal style, it will make you a better drummer if you master...

this book!!! On the 9 songs you can see some impressive double-bass drum work, and some heavy stuff to play, and for sure it is a must have!!!
