Dulcimer - Beginner/Intermediate
Composed by Jess Peterson. Saddle stitch. Folk/Dulcimer Instruction. Book & Downloadable audio. Duration 60 minutes. Published by ADG Productions (AD.ADG139).

Item Number: AD.ADG139

ISBN 9781934163344. 12 x 9 inches.

From the lyrical beauty of Amazing Grace and Shenandoah to the rollicking good fun of Lane County Bachelor and The Rose of Alabamy, these tunes will keep you playing and keep your listeners dancing and singing 'til the sun goes down. All of the tunes are set for standard three-string mountain dulcimer tuned DAD. The music is presented in easyto-read tablature as well as notation. Harmonies are written out for those who like to venture into chording; for more traditionally-minded dulcimer players, or for beginners, the tunes can be played drone-style. All lyrics are printed at the end of the book, telling the story of each song. The CD, recorded by Jess Peterson, includes all of the tunes in order.

I just love this book, nice group of songs, best of all the CD is wonderful, no chatting just beautiful music. I am a beginner and can play these songs except I need a capo for some in the book. Of course I am a bit slower changing chords, but...

getting faster each time. Most of the songs can be followed easily by listening to the CD and practice, & practice.

This is a great book. Her arrangements are very nice. She does something like counterpoint, I'm not really sure what it is called, that give some complexity to the melody. I hoping Ms. Peterson will come out with another dulcimer book soon. If you like playing the dulcimer, you...

    will enjoy this book.
