  • June 02, 2007 Very Difficult, but an error

This is a very difficult, yet rewarding solo. However this edition does contain one error, It should be noted that the second note of measure 41 should be an Ab instead of a Bb. Not sure why Tuckwell changed this or if it was a copyist's error.

  • February 15, 2007 Difficult but worth it.

As a horn solo this one will test just about every aspect of horn playing. The most important part of a sucessful preformance (besides about 7 years of correct playing techniques)is the ability to take deep breaths and relax. This peice is a common senior recital selection for horn...

    preformance majors at my university.

  • July 13, 2006 The best horn solo I ever mastered.

This is one TOUGH piece! It was one of the first horn solo's ever written not to mention tough. I had the range for this piece and I think it is a very advanced challenge. It all depends on your embouchre and air.

  • October 13, 2004 Great for a 25 year player

The first time I played this, I was 13 years old. I won 1st prize at the National Horn Convention in New York. I am now happily principal horn of ANONYMOUS Philharmonic. I play this all the time. Only, it is fully made for an advanced horn player.
