Games Children Sing-India
This is a great book for a beginning journey into children's songs from India. Each song has information about the content and what part of the country it derives. There is a pronunciation guide at the beginning of the book for the vowels. I would have liked a bit more help on pronunciations for each song tho. There are recordings to accompany each song--in English and Hindi. I was a bit disappointed that Indian instruments did not accompany each song---a majority of the recordings were acapella. I was also disappointed that there weren't that many games as the title suggests. It did help me get through my week long camp focussing on Indian music and I was glad for the assistance. Lots of information included about sangeeta (music) and traditions in India.
