Solid Ensemble Piece for Concert Settings
This isn't a typical lead sheet for a quick gig, but as a concert band score and parts, "Fire Dance" is a well-crafted Grade 2 piece. Douglas Akey's writing offers an exciting feel with active percussion. While not for improv, the parts are clearly laid out. Be aware of the usual page turns with a 150-page set. Good for a formal program, not casual requests.

Fun and Achievable for Community Bands!
As an adult learner in a community band, "Fire Dance" by Douglas Akey is fantastic! im a 8th grader who played this song for 7th grade i dont remember if we played this for contest but we sounded amazing we also got a division 1 for stage and this song is awesome
