This is admittedly subjective, but only 4 stars given because I find it annoying and distracting to have so many mordents, turns and other embellishments inserted in the music. Maybe Bach played all of those, but he was certainly highly accomplished and knew his music. For us regular folk trying...

to put the notes into our fingers, it can be a real task to learn the lines AND the embellishments at the same time. I prefer the asterisk approach, then be able to read the reference at the bottom of the page, and then decide if it's something worth paying attention to. With the first partita in this addition, if one plays every mordent, the performance becomes nothing but mordents. Other than that, it is a first class printing and a very clean edition of this work.
