  • June 30, 2012 A great book

This book is aimed at learners who can cope with pieces ranging from about grade 2 to grade 5. The first three or four etudes are quite easy. After that, various complexities appear, such as use of alternative fingerings for easier playing, more involved rhythms, etc. I am now at...

the end of book 2, and I found that book 1 gave me a great grounding for tackling later material. The etudes are tuneful, and I see no reason why aspiring buskers could not include some of them in their repertoire.

My music teacher is working me through this book very quickly. It gives me a full workout on technique, dynamics etc concentrating on intonation, style and attention to detail. An excellent book throughout.
