Derek Hasted writes "I first arranged this lovely tune for The Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, and my arrangement here produces the same big sound from an intermediate guitar quartet or large ensemble. School teachers will find this is an ideal piece for an end of semester concert, and adult ensembles will find it makes a restful interlude piece in a full-length concert.
My arrangement comprises two verses and a Coda, but either verse could be repeated to make an even longer performance piece. There are no page turns.
Guitar 1 suits the seventh position, and guitar 4 (which is in two voices) is all in the first and second position. The middle parts could be taken in a variety of positions, and I have left the fingering for you to choose. There are many places where the faster notes can be slurred, and this does make a positive difference to the overall fluidity of the piece.
There are suggested dynamics which make the piece come alive.
