"Only The Lonely (Know The Way I Feel)" was the first major hit for Roy Orbison, reaching number 2 on the Billboard charts in the US and number 1 in the UK. The song was Orbison's springboard into success, and you're sure to be successful having this one in your gig books too! This fun Cellobat arrangement for solo cello seamlessly blends the melody and the doo-wop backing vocals into one melodic line, for a catchy chart that's sure to get your audience singing along. No accompaniment part -- it stands alone, or can be played with a backing track for solo gigs. This arrangement is rated advanced-intermediate; most of the chart is more of an intermediate level, but I'm adding a level for a big shift up to a few bars of high notes at the end (treble clef/thumb position). This will be learnable for students and sightreadable for professionals.
