Composed by Jill Elliott. 20th Century,Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 28 pages. Daffiddle Music #4766235. Published by Daffiddle Music (A0.925233).

Cantico is a choral exploration of Laudes Creaturarum,  the hymn written by S Francis of Assisi, in which he invites God to receive the praise due to Him through the means of His creation  -Brother Sun, Sister Moon, etc. It was written for Headington Singers who gave its first performance in July 2019. Cantico uses the sounds of S Francis's original text (in his native Umbrian dialect) to create aural pictures of the different works of nature. The piece various sound effects derived from the original text, and much enjoyed by the choir.
