This SATB choral work with optional SATB soli draws upon three songs from Scripture: the Song of Mary (Luke 1:46-55), the Song of Simeon (Luke 2: 29-32), and the Song of Moses (Exodus 15:1-21; paraphrased). Each song is given it's own tune over a common bass line, creating a passacaglia effect that connects them, especially as all three songs are brought together with a triumphant Doxology for an exciting finale.
