Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 4 - Digital Download
SKU: A0.578116
Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Theobald Böhm, David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. 11 pages. David Warin Solomons #3530193. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.578116).
Theobald Böhm (1794-1881) made a brilliant arrangement of Schubert's Serenade (Ständchen - "Leise flehen meine Lieder") for concert flute and piano based on the piano version by Liszt. This version is based on my original instrument and guitar setting of the song but is extended in line with the Böhm arrangement, allowing the melody instrument to blossom into lyrical variations of the melody.
The pdf file contains score and parts.
The sound sample is an electronic preview.

Not a good arrangement
Too many problems to over come on this one. It looks as if some one took a violin part and changed the clef at the beginning. A high D on the violin is really nice, on the viola not so much. The guitar part lays under the fingers pretty well because of the key. The violist needs to be super advanced and the guitarist can be intermediate. The key of Dm is a much better choice and after listening to several renditions on YouTube, Dm is the best key for the viola.
Preview: Ständchen (Serenade) (after Theobald Böhm) for viola and guitar
