SAATTB choir, a cappella - Medium Difficult

SKU: PL.0404

Composed by Aaron David Miller. Cathedral. Choral, General, Lent. Octavo. Paraclete Press #0404. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.0404).

Dr. Miller's new work is full of gracious felicities and lovely turns of phrase, so appropriate for this famous text of Frances Havergal. The divided alto and tenor parts give the musical setting a richness of color and inner motion that is satisfying to the listener and singer alike. Each phrase of the text is set in subtly varied ways, often taking the voices through soaring melodic lines. The writing alternates between close harmony and excitingly wide sonorities for the choir. This would make a fine work for the accomplished choir at any penitential season.

This is a remarkable anthem which accomplished choirs will find rewarding to study, with its mixture of flowing counterpoint and sonorous chordal passages..... - David Halls "Salisbury Cathedral" March 2004.
