It's a thick book and will not stay open. Decide where you want the book split apart and take it to a Staples or UPS Store and have them install a spiral binding. It will cost about $5 and if they're not busy, you sip a coffee while waiting for it. The arrangements are beautiful and almost all have a key change into very difficult music. You can skip the more difficult page or pages and still have a complete song with a manageable intermediate arrangement. My professional pianist mentor said nothing wrong with using White Out to eliminate notes that your hand won't fit or your brain can't handle. I go through a lot of White Out. I often use a blue pencil to color sharps and red to color flats. I'm 80 and need all the help I can get.

This is the best music book I have ever had by the best arranger I have come across. Dan has an amazing way of mixing up arpeggios, with block chords, very interesting runs and fills and deviates just that little bit from the main melody to make pieces sound fresh and interesting and not so predictable. I love the way he makes full use of the keyboard, often changes octaves and keeps pieces flowing from start to finish. Challenging but achievable for anyone with a bit of dedication.

I have enjoyed this book. The arrangements are well done. They are all playable but take a little practice to master. I've played since I was a child and play mostly classical but wanted to add some more popular pieces to my repertoire.

The most satisfying arrangements I have ever experienced. The harmonies and embellishments combine to create a highly professional sound which truly captures the mood of each piece.

I love this book. Some of the songs are difficult to play but the arrangements are so beautiful, they are worth the time spent practicing.

Not for the faint hearted. I found this one difficult to master.

There are currently five of these songs to this point that I have become very comfortable with and enjoy playing such. I am anxious to learn more of them and I am very glad of this overall as an excellent book to purchase. It has taken myself time to accomplish the confortable playing of these songs but in the long run it is the best way to go if you enjoy the final sound played. Excellent!!

I am always gratified with Dan Coates collections. I immediately found 5-6 songs in this book to go to work on. There will be many more I will put attention to as well in this collection. Dan puts forth a beautiful melody line and he always seems to create that room where you can even embellish on it as well. Not too simple and not to difficult with all the room you need.

I love the book, which I bought only to get I Will Always Love you, shortly after Whitney Houston's death. When I was a good bit younger, I would have been able to sing it; unfortunately, age and 50+ years of smoking now prevent my singing at all. Learning to play it will have to suffice. I would have liked a few more pieces from my favorite musicals like Les Miz and POTO, but do have those in other books. Overall, I like the book and will enjoy learning to play several of the pieces.

I am completely happy with this book, I was looking for more advanced beautiful versions of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Colours of the Wind and with this book I have now tonss of other songs that are beautiful piano pieces ....I have just returned to playing piano, had left in grade 8...and will take me some time to master these pieces but all I want to do is practice this book! My fave book thus far! thanks!!! :) If you want to hear the pieces being played that are in this book you tube Dan Coates Adv Piano Solos...it will let you hear how beautiful they are..and ignore any of the bad reviews..is just about learning to play them properly!!

Very pleased - exactly what I expected: challenging versions of songs that every good pianist wants to play to impress an audience.

Love the song selection in this book. I love Dan Coates arrangements. Some of the songs are a little difficult for me but if I don't reach for something more difficult I don't improve. I would have preferred to have the chords written above the staffs and the words to the songs but I have enjoyed it immensely so far.

Excellent collection for the advanced or late intermediate pianist. Dan Coates arrangements are fabulous and sound more complicated than they are to play. I've had this collection for about 10 years and my clients love the arrangements and comment favorably about how wonderful they sound.

Great combinations of beautiful songs, written in sweet lilting, yet bold and challenging, arrangements. My husband claims the music shows a distinctive personality inasmuch as there are similarities in all the songs. I think it's my rendition, not the arrangements.

This book is one of my favorites in my collection! If you love pop music arranged instrumentally (i.e. easy listening), then this book is for you! His choice of chords provide nice colors for the listener.
