About Moonlight Sonata Sheet Music:

Ludwig van Beethoven completed Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor “Quasi una fantasia,” Op. 27 no. 2 in 1801. The name Moonlight Sonata was inspired by a German music critic Ludwig Rellstab. In 1832, five years after Beethoven’s death, Rellstab likened the first movement to moonlight shining on a lake. In the following decade, both German and English publishers began printing the name Moonlight Sonata on publications of this piece. The Moonlight Sonata is arguably Beethoven’s most recognizable piano sonata, by name and by ear. You can find Moonlight Sonata sheet music for piano solo, easy piano, and guitar and arrangements for nearly every instrument!
