Based on hymns by Freeman Lewis & Daniel Teasley. Commissioned for the 2020 Handbell Musicians of America Area 5 Spring Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, this piece starts open and stately before launching with rhythmic energy into a Bluegrass-infused toe-tapper. It brilliantly pairs the Freeman Lewis hymn tune BOURBON ("I Take My Refuge in the Lord") with a Daniel Teasley hymn of similar assurance.
