The title of this work alludes to the flight of the eagle. In the course of a short flight, the composer was able to get a birds-eye view of the landscape in which the sun’s rays, glistening on the snow and ice, transformed the scenery into crystal. This unforgettable image of the breathtaking beauty of the mountains is captured in musical form in From Crystals and Eagles.
Een korte vlucht in een vliegtuig inspireerde Thomas Doss tot het componeren van dit werk. Als een adelaar voelde hij zich, zoals hij hoog vanuit de lucht een besneeuwd berglandschap aanschouwde. Een landschap waarin zonnestralende sneeuw en het ijs weerkaatsten als kristallen. De pracht van dit wonderbaarlijke schouwspel in de bergen was onvergetelijk voor de componist. Daarom legde hij zijn indrukken vast in deze fraaie compositie From Crystals and Eagles.Indrukwekkend!
Der Titel des Werkes spielt auf den Flug eines Adlers an. Der Komponist durfte bei einem kurzen Flug die Landschaft selbst aus der Vogelperspektive erleben. Wie Kristalle lassen die Sonnenstrahlen den Schnee und das Eis glitzern und spiegeln. Der Glanz dieser wunderschönen Berglandschaft ist ein unvergesslicher Eindruck, der in From Crystals and Eagles musikalisch festgehalten wurde.
Le titre de cette oeuvre fait allusion au vol de l’aigle. Lors d’un court voyage en avion, le compositeur a pu observer l’ensemble d’un paysage qui, illuminé par les rayons du soleil luisant sur la neige et la glace, se transforma en un décor de cristal. Cette image inoubliable de l’extraordinaire beauté des montagnes est restituée avec émotion dans cette délicate composition.
Il titolo di questo brano allude al volo dell’aquila che regala al compositore un breve ma splendido viaggio sopra le cime innevate che con i raggi del sole creano uno scenario simile ad un mare di cristalli. Thomas Doss ha voluto tradurre in musica questo spettacolo unico, quasi a tenerlo ancora più vivo nella sua memoria.
