Gramy nominated best instrumental composition for jazz ensemble 2009. Up-tempo, exciting rocked-out composition from the University of North Texas library. Recorded on "Lab 2009" the piece is based on a difficult chromatic line that is a programmatic representation of the doomsday weapon found in Kurt Vonnegut's novel: "Cat's Cradle". Solo sections for trombone, tenor sax, guitar and drums. Lead trumpet written up to a 4 ledger line-space written high Ab. Also includes an amazing funky trombone/bari sax soli. 5 saxes, 10 brass, plus piano, bass, guitar, and drums.
