This familiar setting of the Sanctus by Felix Mendelssohn is an accessible yet beautiful use of double choir and the resulting sonorities. The late Dr. Larry L. Fleming's translation is of special note in this edition, as certain vowels, pitch, and dynamics are wonderfully matched without compromising linguistic integrity in translation. It is a wonderful piece with which to bring two choirs of a parish together (or combine with a local neighboring church)- even more effective is to perform the work with some distance between the two choirs.
